Throughout history, we see that wars are fought and won over two major things in this world: religion, and resource. Any one of these pieces of art has the ability to start, end, or prolong a war. Each one conveys human spirit, love, hate, terror, and sadness. Many of the firsts pieces of art were religious, and so too are the longest-standing and best known. Could you imagine a day without the Last Supper? Without the Amida Buddha Statues? The Terracotta Army? Of course not: these historic works, like the ones shown here are the epitome of human expression in art. Though created by human hands, they stand the test of time, speaking what we cannot: "we who are made by man, masters of the flesh and communicators of eternity, stand now, and will stand forever. In the face of all gods, goddesses, creatures, and elements. We too have the power of immortality and creation. We too survive"
