you can be talented at ANY age. What comes as you get older is experience and that is just as important. Eg; you may be a brilliant writer from a young age but life experience as you get older enhances your skill. At a young age you can write with innocence but once you've passed your teens you've learnt a whole new range of emotions which you can use in your writing with effect.

Yes there are no great writers or artists under 5 years!

Absolutely not in mt opinion. Its not when you sart, its what you've learned since you started. Practice and training will help one excell and develop the tools that they need, time and trial and error give the experience to know when to use those tools and how. It is also the passion for art which gives us artistic vision and creativity. I've seen very talented artists of all types, genres and mediums at all ages. I never take age of an artist into consideration when viewing art, nor would I of race, creed, location or anything else. There's no one thing we can narrow down and attribute to talent. Half of it is technical knowledge and the other half is that x-factor. That part of it where we can't put our finger on we people are so good, they simply are. Its that magical part of art where some people have this bottomless source of inspiration and vision, and creativity flows like a waterfall. And age has no effect on this in any way shape or form

i think absolutly no, but th art how draw changed! ^^

I put in some cases.

1) It's experience and practice that evolve natural talent, so age can mean nothing if you've literally studies since you could draw or tinker or what ever.

2) Age does play (or it did) when you went looking for work, the oldies won't give ya the chance, b/c, well, they are stuck in their era of art. Now a days, younger artists are breaking the mold and so age is becoming irrelevant recently.

I agree.

There's also talent in other areas that can be inborn or gained.

I don't beileve so. Talent comes at any moment. You have to use it and say with it for it to be good. Whether it comes sooner or later, depends on the person. As for me for example. I've drawn all my life. But eariler, I couldn't draw worth two cracks, and couldn't even stay in the lines.
However, there were kids in my class who could draw better than the tacher literally. Because think about it. If age had an effect on talent, wouldn't we all get better with our skills even when we don't use them?

Oh yeah? Check out Marla Olmstead, then. She's internationally recognized as an accomplished painter, and is only 4 years old. lol

So Johnny, my love, we got us a witness,
Now all we gotta do is get a preacher.
He can probably skip the until death part:
'Cause Johnny, my love, you're already dead.
I only ask because I'm a real cunt in spring,
You can rent me by the hour.
:iconpygar:
Haha, and I thought I was safe picking 5 years!
